SteriPEN is a brand of portable water purifiers that use ultraviolet (UV) light. By placing the SteriPEN UV lamp in water and stirring briefly, the water is disinfected without chemicals and without changing its taste.

Petridi Stores has previously carried SteriPEN devices. There are currently no active SteriPEN products in our e-shop, but you can contact us for availability or for alternative solutions in:

  • hiking water filters
  • water purification tablets
  • water bottles

SteriPEN purifiers are aimed at travellers visiting countries with questionable water, hikers and mountaineers drinking from springs and streams, and anyone who wants a solution for emergencies. For cloudy water, filtering first is recommended so that the UV light works properly. Carrying spare batteries or keeping the device charged is also important on longer trips.
