The name C.A.M.P. is an acronym that stands for:
Concezione Articoli Montagna Premana
Translation: Conception of Articles for Mountaineering Made in Premana
Premana is a small mountain village located at the furthest end of the main valley running north out of Lecco (there are literally no roads running out of Premana besides the road coming in). The town is situated in the pre-Alps just shy of the Swiss border. Nicola Codega started manufacturing mountaineering equipment in Premana in 1889 and the company, now distributing in more than 65 countries, still calls Premana home.
Climbers in other countries often ask about our name. In short, C.A.M.P. stands for history, innovation, quality and absolute dedication to the mountain lifestyle.
